WILLEMSTAD - Last night, the new political party Vishon responded to the plan of the Rhuggenaath cabinet to implement a change in the sales tax this year. This means that the deduction right on import will lapse.
Vishon does not think the plan is sensible and calls the proposal "yet another blow to our already fragile economy." Vishon advocates an integral simplification of our tax system.
Due to the modest size of our economy, a simpler tax system is more appropriate for both the business community and the tax organization, the party says.
Vishon further states that "this ill-considered amendment to the law reinforces the suspicion that ministers are mainly concerned with preparations for an election campaign". And not with making and coordinating thoughtful plans.
