VISHON wants to fight corruption

Local | By Correspondent December 10, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - December 9 was the International Day against Corruption. The new political party VISHON has therefore released a list of action points to combat corruption.

This not only concerns corruption within politics, but also among civil servants or by private individuals.

VISHON wants formal rules of conduct to be introduced for Members of Parliament and Ministers regarding their expenditure and income. These must be published in a public register. VISHON also says that there must be more transparency regarding policy intentions, which must also be visible in a public database.

The party also wants a recruitment & selection committee to be set up, so that political influence on the selection of Supervisory Board members, Executive Board members and top officials is eliminated.

Such a recruitment & selection committee could be formed by representatives of the government, employers' organizations and the trade union federations.
