WILLEMSTAD - The VKC volunteer corps has apologized for the behavior of some of its members.
The organization regrets last weekend's course of events in which a man who was handcuffed in the street was stepped on his face. There was a commotion in Curaçao when a video of it appeared on social media.
The man, Curtley Kook, refused to hand over his driver's license and car papers to a member of the VKC when asked to do so. He then drove off and after a wild chase was finally stopped and handcuffed on the street. He was assaulted according to his own words.
He has announced that he will take legal action against the VKC.
