WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam (CIFFR) is proud of the mural that was painted across the street from the Movies in Otrobanda.
Students of Primary and Secondary Education have been working on the project in recent months under the guidance of artists Garrick Marchena and Morgaine Parris. An image was created on two walls across the street from the Movies Otrobanda, which represents the collaboration between the Film Festival in Rotterdam and in Willemstad.

The festival in Rotterdam has a tiger as its symbol and that in Curaçao the barika hell. These both appear on the "mural".
Mundu di Mucha
The CIFFR initiative is sponsored by the Mundu di Mucha foundation and set up to help a number of talented young people think and guide them in making a work of art, in this case a mural.
Through workshops, the young people were asked to make a drawing that symbolizes the relationship between the two festivals.
This made them think about visual language, communication and use of materials. They were given workshops on how to use paint and other materials for the mural. They were also able to experience the challenges of this art form on the spot.
All drawings/ideas of the students have been given a place in the final result. Garrick Marchena and Morgaine Parris have chosen the final overarching design.
