Local | By Correspondent October 26, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has an additional mural. Yesterday it was unveiled at the SDK sports complex in the Brievengat area. It is a mural of Curaçao's greatest swimming champion Enith Brigitha.

The mural is part of a project to promote the sports complex.

Brigitha was the first black woman to win an Olympic medal for the Netherlands. For that country, she participated in the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 and in 1976, in Montreal. There she took bronze medals in the 100 meters and 200 meters freestyle. She was the first black swimmer to win Olympic medals.

The artwork was painted by Jhomar Loaiza.
