WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao has passed the lockdown and is hoping for a new flow of tourists. The first signs of this are favorable. After almost a year of being locked up, you would think that the government would have used the time to prepare the island for the tourists, nothing could be further from the truth.
An attentive reader made a tour along the beaches of Westpunt and the surrounding area and was shocked. "The road to Kenepa Grandi (Grote Knip) offers a desolate sight. Garbage and construction waste along the verge turn the beautiful area into a construction pit and rubbish dump."
"It is advisable not to let the tourist drive along this road to Grote Knip. Oh no, wait! It is the only road to one of the most beautiful bays on our island."
Not only for the tourist this road could use a cleaning up, but also for our islanders themselves.
