WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao can expect partly cloudy conditions today, with occasional light showers passing over the island, according to the Meteorological Department of Curaçao. Weather conditions are expected to become more unsettled starting tomorrow, increasing the likelihood of rainfall as Christmas approaches.
On Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day, Meteo forecasts partly to locally heavily clouded skies, slightly cooler conditions, and a chance of isolated showers. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 30 degrees Celsius, with minimum temperatures near 26 degrees.
According to Meteo, the current weather pattern is being influenced by an extension of the Atlantic subtropical high-pressure system. This system is generating moderate easterly to northeasterly winds across the ABC islands. Moist air carried by these winds may occasionally produce brief, light showers, although overall conditions remain relatively stable and calm.
A cold front near Cuba and Hispaniola is contributing to slightly cooler temperatures in the wider region. During the night, additional moisture transported by the easterly winds is expected to increase cloud cover and raise the chances of more frequent rain showers.
Residents and visitors are advised to remain aware of changing weather conditions in the coming days, particularly during outdoor holiday activities.
