WILLEMSTAD – Minister Charles Cooper has appointed Wendell Bonafacio as the new interim director of the Servisio pa Obra Publiko (OW). The appointment took effect today, January 19, 2026, and is for a period of three years.

According to the Ministry, the appointment is aimed at ensuring continuity, quality, and the further strengthening of the organization. During the transition period, the focus will be on reinforcing leadership and the internal structure of OW, improving operational processes, project management and procedures, and safeguarding continuity in core tasks such as road infrastructure, water management, and public facilities.
Bonafacio will carry out his responsibilities in an independent and professional manner, in close coordination with Minister Cooper and the ministry’s management team. The Ministry stated that he will receive full cooperation and support to jointly continue building a stronger, more professional public works organization that is well prepared for the future.
