Local | By Correspondent February 11, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The Financial Supervision Board (Cft) will pay a working visit to Curaçao next week. On Tuesday 15 February, the Cft will meet with Minister of Finance Javier Silvania. Silvania has announced this upcoming visit.

The financial committee visits the island several times a year for discussions with the government and other stakeholders. Members are Raymond Gradus (chairman), Henk Kamp (on behalf of the Netherlands), Gregory Damoen (on behalf of Curacao) and Russell Voges (on behalf of Sint Maarten). The Institute ensures that the budget meets the standards laid down in the Financial Supervision Act.

For the coming years, tax reform, economic reforms and expenditure containment are of crucial importance, according to the committee. These reforms must put the government's financial household in order and ensure that the economy of Curaçao will grow again.
