"For ourselves and the generations after us"
WILLEMSTAD - The entire population of Curaçao is invited to participate in a new edition of World Clean Up Day Curaçao on Saturday 21 September. The national cleaning campaign is taking place for the seventh year in a row. The aim is to clear up as much of the mess as possible in one morning and to make people aware of less pollution.
This year's approach is: "Let us be the generation that makes Curaçao beautiful again". The organization explains that fewer and fewer people pollute in Curaçao, but we are not there yet. “We have one island. If Curaçao will soon be full of waste, where will we go? Klein-Curaçao? ”Asks chairman of the Curaçao Clean Up Maarten Switch off organization. "We are on track. Now let's move on to change the mentality, so that Curaçao stays clean - before ourselves and after the generations. ”A video with children who are worried about the future of the island goes viral on social media these days.
The organization of World Clean Up calls on the population to participate en masse again and to make people in their surrounding enthusiastic about being part of this important event. Register and get more information, via the official website of the event: www.worldcleanupdaycuracao.org.
