WILLEMSTAD - Zanzibar owner Bert Evers was taken away by the police yesterday. According to the police and the inspectorate of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), he did not cooperate with the check by the multidisciplinary team. He is also said to have behaved rudely and thereby disrupted the authorities in carrying out their work.
The beach club was also closed due to client gathering and non-compliance with social distancing guidelines. In addition, the majority of staff did not adhere to the rules like wearing a face mask while serving customers. The police handed out a total of three fines for this negligence.
In total, the multidisciplinary team visited four catering establishments yesterday. At Dutch Treat Pietermaai, Roast Cannibal Rum Shop and Mundo Bizarro everything turned out to be in order.
