WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Public Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer announced that sixteen companies want to trade in the cannabis business on Curaçao. These companies have registered at the Ministry of Health and have presented their plans.

The legislation to legalize this medical trade was discussed in parliament last year but is not yet complete. Cannabis cultivation must take place in Sint Joris on an area of 400 hectares.

Curaçao is seriously considering cannabis business as an important export product for the island.
