WILLEMSTAD - The epidemiology department reports that out of 2336 people that were tested today for the COVID-19 virus, 339 of them were positive. 116 cases were taken out of isolation. The total number of active infections is now 11,825.
According to the epidemiology department, there were 25 imported cases. After more investigation, it became known that the new cases on Saturday, January 15 should have been 543 seeing that some people were registered twice. All other numbers were correct.
The situation at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) until this morning: 47 COVID-related patients are in the hospital. 13 of them are in the ICU. Unfortunately, 1 person has died in the hospital.
The total COVID-related death since the beginning of the pandemic is 206.
