WILLEMSTAD - The epidemiology department reports that out of 1653 people who were tested today for the COVID-19 virus, 94 of them resulted positive. 8 cases were taken out of isolation. The total number of active infections is now 332. According to the epidemiology department, they are investigating 4 clusters: a family of 4, a cluster at a shared home with at least 6 cases until now, one super spread event of 50 cases until now and another big cluster of 28 cases.
The situation at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) remains the same: 2 people are in the hospital. No COVID-related cases are in the ICU.
Meanwhile, the Delta variant has been detected in Curaçao as was suspected. This was determined through samples from 2 weeks ago.
