WILLEMSTAD - As part of the Education Improvement Program (MdE), several key projects are set to launch. Minister Sithree van Heydoorn, responsible for education, introduced the MdE program and provided a detailed overview of its objectives. Now, one project is moving forward, focusing on creating opportunities for the professional growth and development of local students abroad.

To implement this project, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESKD) signed an agreement with Irene Dick, who will oversee the initiative in partnership with Colombia’s National Learning Service (S.E.N.A.). Through this collaboration, the ESKD aims to enhance the professional training of Curaçaoan youth by offering specialized courses in Colombia. Irene Dick is tasked with managing this project on behalf of the ESKD.

This program is specifically designed for students with prior work experience, offering them a chance to advance professionally in their fields by attending courses at S.E.N.A. Each course lasts six months and will be funded by the Curaçao Government in coordination with the Stichting Studiefinanciering Curaçao (SSC). More information will be provided later this year as Dick and the Ministry finalize the execution plan.

Minister Sithree van Heydoorn says he will continue to work on implementing the MdE program to open professional development opportunities, thereby improving community services across Curaçao.
