Announcement: CMC will cancel all outpatient appointments for the day

Main news | By Correspondent December 14, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - Due to the major challenges Aqualectra is currently facing, the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has been running on its own generators since last weekend. As these generators are nearing their maximum capacity, the CMC is forced to cancel all outpatient appointments for this afternoon and close certain areas that are not essential in order to ensure essential and acute care and treat emergencies. CMC also guarantees the continuity of care for patients who are admitted to hospital.

The main reason that led to this decision is the maintenance that must be carried out on the generators, which have been running for 72 hours. CMC will continue to use these generators until the power on the Aqualectra grid has stabilized. In the meantime, work is being done on an additional generator to be able to continue tomorrow's appointments. We will update the community on developments for tomorrow, December 15th.

Keep an eye on the Curaçao Medical Center Facebook page to stay informed of the latest developments.
