WILLEMSTAD - In Curaçao, a corona patient has died in the Curaçao Medical Center on Wednesday. This means that seventeen corona patients on the island have succumbed to the virus since March last year. Wednesday's corona numbers indicate that a total of 143 people recovered.
36 new cases were added. This means that Curaçao has been below a thousand active infections for a long time. It now concerns a total of 898 people. Nine people are in hospital, three of them in intensive care.
In total, the test results of 615 people came back yesterday, of which 36 people were infected. That means a positivity rate of about six percent.
Ten of the 36 new cases could be linked to existing infections. 37,600 corona tests have been carried out on the island in the past ten months.
