Suspect

S. Quant has been wanted by the judiciary for quite some time. A year ago, a joint investigation team started an investigation into him. This specially formed investigation team consists of members of the police forces of Sint Maarten, Curaçao, Aruba and the Criminal Investigation Cooperation Team (RST). It is headed by the Public Prosecution Service Sint Maarten and headed by the Public Prosecution Service Curaçao. This intensive international police cooperation with various investigative services worldwide has today led to his arrest in Dubai.

Cooperation

The responsible leadership of the Curaçao Police Force, Sint Maarten Police Force, Aruba Police Force and the National Police of the Netherlands are grateful for the pleasant and successful cooperation with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The management of the RST and the Public Prosecution Service in Sint Maarten and Curaçao are also satisfied with the result. The cooperating organizations jointly declare: “With the arrest of S. Quant an important step has been taken in the investigation. This has brought the resolution of various murder cases a step closer, thus achieving justice for the victims and their relatives."

While S. Quant did not live on Curaçao or Sint Maarten, his influence remained undiminished in these countries. This is because of its supposedly worldwide criminal network. The Public Prosecution Curaçao is now asking for his extradition. This extradition procedure may take some time, as the Kingdom has no extradition treaty with Dubai.

After the arrest of S. Quant searches have taken place at various locations in Dubai. Various searches were also carried out in Curaçao and the Netherlands.

The investigation will be continued in the near future, multiple arrests are not ruled out.
