WILLEMSTAD - During the Judicial Four-Party Consultation JVO, last Monday, the Netherlands and the Dutch islands made agreements to cooperate more intensively in the field of deportation and repatriation of Venezuelan migrants.
The agreements are part of an effective migration policy and strengthen border control in line with international obligations. As a result of the large influx of migrants from Venezuela since 2014, increasing attention is being paid to the issue of migrants in the countries, including the return of migrants.
The aim is to establish a strong cooperation network that promotes a humane, transparent and efficient return process, with a special focus on sustainable reintegration and voluntary return.
The Ministers of Justice of the Kingdom of the Netherlands meet twice a year to discuss a common approach to, among other things, organized crime, migration and border control.
The next JVO will take place in January 2023 in Aruba.
