WILLEMSTAD - The verdict is in. The Court of Appeals has sentenced former Minister of Finance for the MFK party, George Jamaloodin to 30 years in prison. He is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of former Member of Parliament and popular politician Helmin Wiels.
Jamaloodin was sentenced to 28 years in the Court of First Instance. Now in appeal the court added two more years to his prison sentence.
Family members of the murdered Wiels say that they are relieved, but several questions linger. They want to know the real reason behind the murder. They want Jamaloodin, who they thought was a friend, to say why he murdered the former politician.
