WILLEMSTAD - All primary and secondary schools will be closed from next Monday. This was announced tonight by Minister Steven Croes of Education because of the increasing number of covid19 infections on the island.
The closure applies from next Monday to next Wednesday. Then, from Thursday, April 1 to Sunday, April 11, it is Easter holiday. Before the next school day, on April 12, the ministry will publish an update.
Exam classes and students with resits or who must submit their school research project do have to attend classes. On their way to school, these students must have their exam schedule with them in the car as proof.
Higher education will continue in a virtual form after consultation. A maximum of four students may be present for practical exams, according to social distance and hygiene rules.
Vocational schools (SBO) continue according to agreements.
