CFT: labor market must be made more flexible

Main news | By Correspondent July 13, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The Financial Supervision Board (CFT) believes that the labor market in Curaçao should be made more flexible. This is apparent from a conversation that the body had together with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and with the Minister of Social Development, Labor and Welfare Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia.

For example, according to the CFT, the dismissal law must be amended to make it easier to dismiss employees.

In order to get more young people to work, the CFT also wants to make the labor market more flexible, for example by reducing the number of working hours and giving a boost to tourism.
