WILLEMSTAD - The Financial Supervision Board (Cft) is not happy with Curaçao right now because the annual reports from 2014 to 2018 have still not been provided. The Cft now gives until 15 December to submit the adopted annual reports for 2014 to 2018 to the Cft. The regulator writes this in a letter to Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha.

The Curaçao and Sint Maarten Financial Supervision Act (Rft) stipulates that the financial reports for the previous year are to be provided no later than 31 August of the following year.

The Cft has not yet received the adopted reports for the years 2014 to 2018, despite repeated requests to do so, according to the Cft in the letter. The 2019 annual report is also missing. Only the 2014 and 2015 were presented topParliament and discussed in a committee meeting.

According to the Cft, Gijsbertha has promised in a letter on 16 September to present the reports for 2016, 2017 and 2018 to parliament at the end of November. Cft chairman Raymond Gradus: "The Cft is of the opinion that the adequate completion of the budget and accountability cycle is of great importance in order to arrive at an efficient allocation of scarce resources."
