Companies selected to manage and operate the oil facilities in Curaçao are doing preliminary studies and site visits at oil facilities

Out of more than 20 companies that showed interest

WILLEMSTAD - The committee that’s been installed to search for a company that will operate the oil facilities in Curaçao has selected a number of companies that will continue in the process of selection, out of more than 20 companies that have shown interest to manage and operate the oil facilities. These companies are currently conducting evaluations using the information they received in a Teaser document they obtained alongside other relevant information regarding the facilities. The companies were granted access to the virtual data room of Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK), where they are able to obtain relevant information regarding the oil facilities.  Site visits at the refinery and the terminal located at Bullenbaai should also be expected to take place during the upcoming weeks. The management of the refinery and the committee installed to search for a company that will operate the facilities will also hold presentations about among others operations and maintenance, human resources, and environmental regulations.

At the end of last year, the committee issued a request for an Expression of Interest from serious potential partners who are interested in the management and operations of the oil facilities.

The aim is for selected parties to submit a binding proposal no later than at the end of February 2022. Hereafter, a final selection will be conducted of the party or parties with whom the negotiations will continue.

RdK can not disclose the names of the parties that have shown interest, as RdK is bound by the non-disclosure agreement signed with parties that have indicated their interest in submitting a binding proposal.  As the process keeps evolving, RdK will continue offering information regarding the progress and will in due time disclose the information of the potential partner or partners chosen to manage and operate the oil facilities in Curaçao.
