WILLEMSTAD - According to Minister Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning (VVRP), the construction of a boardwalk at Pietermaai is not going as planned. The minister states that illegal activities are taking place.
Cooper is currently on vacation in Europe, but expressed his dissatisfaction with the work in a Facebook post. The construction of the boardwalk was previously announced by the minister. The boardwalk should become a new tourist attraction.
According to the minister, permission has been given for the construction of the decking path, but work is now underway on a pier without approval. Several people on social media are complaining about the construction work. Also at Parasasa a lot is being excavated along the coast.
