COVID-19 measures starting November 7, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The government of Curaçao announced today the COVID-19 measures that will take effect starting November 7, 2020.

Curfew: Curfew is now from midnight until 4:30 am.

Agglomeration: Crowds of more than 4 people in public places, including on the roads is not permitted.

Public Transport: Public transport will operate until midnight.

Schools: A maximum of 15 students per class in group 8 (final year primary school) and also higher education.

Religious Centers: Singing and playing instruments are still not allowed. A maximum of 50% of the capacity is allowed but not more than 50 people together.

Sports: Spectators is not allowed during sports events in stadiums and sports halls. It is recommended to maintain the maximum number of 25 persons in gyms and CrossFit halls.

Businesses: Businesses can remain open according to their permit, but no later than 11 pm. The maximum number of people allowed in an establishment is 50% of the capacity but no more than 50 people together. Adjusted hours for BBQ stands are from 6 pm until 11 pm. Restaurants can open according to their permit but no later than 11 pm. Bar and restaurants located in hotels can remain open according to the hours permitted.

Music: Background music is allowed again at public places and restaurants according to the official instructions given by the government and with permits for events and music. Live presentations are possible with a maximum of 4 musicians and 1 technician. It is not recommended for customers to sing and dance.

The government will continue monitoring the developments around COVID-19 each week, with the objective of easing some of the measures in this new normal.
