WILLEMSTAD - The number of corona infections in Curaçao continues to decline. This is evident from figures that the government announced last night. Forty people recovered on Tuesday, nineteen people were registered as positive. This brings the total number of infections to 1006. On Curaçao 472 people were tested, which means that there is a low positivity rate of 4%. There are currently nine people in the hospital, four of which are in intensive care. As is known, 16 people who were infected with Covid-19 have died since March last year.
According to the government, twelve of the nineteen new infections can be linked to known infections. The remaining seven are currently under investigation. Almost 37,000 people have now been tested on Curaçao. There has been a clear decline in recent days. On Christmas Eve, 1657 people were still registered as corona patients.
