Main news | By Correspondent August 5, 2021

WILLEMSTAD - The corona measures in Curaçao will not be tightened up. In today's press conference, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth spoke about the new wave of contamination that Curaçao is now going through. According to the prime minister, everyone should do their best to behave responsibly so that the economy can continue to run.

Today there are 72 positive tests, of which 1 is from abroad and the rest is local. 59 people come out of isolation. There are now 23 people in hospital, 4 of whom are in intensive care. The patients in the hospital are largely unvaccinated.

Gerstenbluth shows with a graphic that most infections occur at entertainment venues and especially at beach bars. There will be more checks at nightlife venues. All measures must be observed there. There are no exceptions.
