WILLEMSTAD - The measures in Curaçao against the spread of the corona virus are being relaxed somewhat. According to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, the reduced number of infections is enough reason to let the reins loosen a little, without becoming irresponsible.
Rhuggenaath emphasizes that we must go "step by step" and "together" to return to a normal situation. The relaxed measures are valid until March 8.
The relaxed measures at a glance:
The curfew effective tomorrow, February 26, starts at midnight and until 4:30 AM.
Horeca can, if they have a permit, remain open until 23:00.
Truk’i Pans (BBQ stands) may be open from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Casinos may remain open until 11:00 PM. Alcohol should still not be served and in the case of sports betting up to 50 percent of the capacity may be used for this.
During sports matches, a maximum of half of the stands may be occupied, up to a maximum of 250 people.
An exception may be made for major sporting events. This must be requested via kalamidat.cw.
Public is not allowed at sports matches in closed halls.
Gyms and crossfit rooms can have a maximum capacity of 25 people.
Care home residents may again receive 2 visitors.
