WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday 75 people were tested and 4 of them came back positive. That is what epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth said this morning during the press conference. One of the infected persons is in the hospital.
Dr. Gerstenbluth indicates that there may already be many corona cases, which we do not know yet because of the incubation period. “This is disturbing,” he says.
Since local cases became known in Curaçao, substantially more tests have been conducted. More clusters have been found. There are now 14 known clusters. There is a relative group that is now ill.
The government can do nothing but take extra measures now, otherwise, it will no longer be able to control the situation in 2 weeks' time.
The 14 clusters are indicated in these two graphics. Dr. Gerstenbluth says that cluster 1 is already safe. All those in that cluster have recovered. Currently, there is only one person in the hospital.
