Main news | By Correspondent February 25, 2022

THE HAGUE - Of the 18 factions in the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament, only the CDA has asked questions about the treaty between the Kingdom and the Dominican Republic to establish the mutual sea border.

The members of the CDA faction asked the government what the reason is that the treaty was concluded, and what was the reason for it.

The members of the CDA faction ask the government to what extent representatives of Aruba and Curaçao were involved in the negotiations. These members also asked to what extent this applies to the representatives of the other overseas islands of the Kingdom.

The members of the CDA faction asked the government what concrete consequences the treaty will have for fisheries management, the protection of the marine environment and scientific marine research, and ask the government to give examples in this regard.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoekstra will answer the questions in writing.
