WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Health, Environment and Nature, Dorothy Pietersz-Janga has tested positive for corona. She confirmed this on her Facebook page.
Pietersz-Janga writes that she officially tested positive on December 31. “Together with my team, we have taken measures according to government guidelines. I am currently in isolation. My health is stable and improving slowly”. She also emphasizes that it is important that people adhere to the measures in force and stay at home as much as possible. “Take care of the people around you to prevent the virus from spreading further,” says Pietersz-Janga. She also says she will announce when she can be released from isolation.
Pietersz-Janga came under fire several times because she never said whether she was vaccinated or not. Recently, she was also the big absentee at press conferences about corona. At the press conference on Monday it once again became clear that she has been removed from the crisis team. Epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth was also not present on Monday. During the press conference, it was reported that he had been in close contact with someone positive. Reportedly, this would be Pietersz-Janga.
