THE HAGUE - The four prime ministers of the kingdom had a digital meeting yesterday with António Guterres, the UN Secretary General. Prime Ministers Rutte, Pisas, Wever-Croes and Jacobs spoke with Guterres about the relationship with neighboring Venezuela, the effects of climate change and the pandemic.

The consultations came about after Prime Minister Rutten submitted a request for this to the UN General Assembly in September. Guterres indicated that he would continue to draw attention to the issues within the UN so that larger countries can take them into account.

The Secretary General indicated that the islands have his attention, and he is worried about the climate change crisis, the pandemic, the situation in Venezuela which is affecting the region. Guterres said that he will continue to present this to the General Assembly of the United Nations just like he did in September 2021.
