WILLEMSTAD - The oil tanker Freud is currently in Bullen Bay to take on board 550,000 barrels of crude oil from Refineria di Kòrsou nv (RdK). RdK has sold the oil to an international buyer for 25 million dollars. The proceeds will be used to cover the operating costs of the refinery and the terminal.
The 550,000 barrels of crude oil come from two sources. Some of the oil was at the bottom of the oil tanks when RdK took over the site from Refineria Isla (the Venezuelan PdVSA). "This crude oil is owned by RdK according to the agreement between RdK and Refineria Isla."
The other part of the oil was bought by RdK at an auction in November 2020. From these two sources, RdK has made a mixture that is suitable for sale.
In this way, RdK continues to do its utmost to commercialize petroleum products and ensure the continuation of its operations.
The ship Freud is a crude oil tanker built in 2018 and sailing under the flag of the Marshall Islands. It has a length of 276 meters and a width of 48 meters and has a storage capacity of one million barrels.
