Fuel prices in Curaçao significantly up

Main news | By Correspondent March 25, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The price regulator Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&P) reports in its monthly press release that the price for gasoline and diesel will rise sharply in Curaçao from Tuesday March 29. Diesel will be no less than 37 cents more expensive than the current rate.

Drivers currently pay 2.47 guilders for a liter of gasoline. From Tuesday, the rate will increase by 17 cents to 2.64 cents. The diesel price increases from 1.90 guilders to 2.27 guilders.

In February and the first half of March there was a very strong increase in international prices for oil and refined fuels. The increased rates for both diesel and gasoline are therefore mainly the result of rising purchase prices due to international developments, according to BT&P.

Prices for water and electricity remain virtually the same. As of April 1, consumers pay 67 cents per KiloWatt of electricity and nine guilders for a cubic meter of water.
