WILLEMSTAD - Fuel prices will continue to rise in the coming month. From April 26, diesel will again be 37 cents more expensive than the current rate. This reports Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&P) in its monthly press release.
Drivers currently pay 2.64 guilders for a liter of gasoline. From Tuesday, the rate will increase by seventeen cents to 2.81 guilders. The diesel price increases from 2.27 guilders to 2.64 guilders.
In the first months of 2022, there was a very strong increase in international prices for oil and refined fuels. The increased rates for both diesel and gasoline are the result of the increase in the purchase price and a sharp increase in the correction of the surplus/deficit component. The latter is mainly due to the processing of the half of the increase in the purchase price of last month.
Prices for electricity and water remain virtually the same. As of May 1, consumers pay 70 cents per KiloWatt of electricity, three cents more than the rate in April. From next week, water will cost 9.2 guilders per cubic meter of water.
