WILLEMSTAD - The Council of Ministers has fully agreed to continue further negotiations with a preferred bidder proposed by the director of Curaçao Refinery (RdK), in the process of establishing an operator of the Curaçao refinery.
“It is important for the Curaçao government that the statutory process is now followed according to the prescribed procedure. This means that a meeting must be held at which the shareholder informs both the Supervisory Board and the director of RdK about its position,” says the government in a press release on Wednesday.
The Government hopes for good cooperation between those involved in the process, in order to find a new operator as quickly as possible, so that the refinery can open and offer jobs to the people.
This means that the Venezuelan millionaire and former President of the State Oil Company PdVSA Luis Giusti and his group will take over the refinery in Curaçao.
