WILLEMSTAD - Former banker Eric Garcia may serve his sentence in house arrest until at least May 14.
The judge extended the house arrest this week, which was imposed in August last year for health reasons, to 14 May. Garcia is 79 years old. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison last May. He also has to repay 11 million dollars that he would have embezzled as a trustee for the Bank of Maracaibo.
