Important announcements for Wednesday June 29

Main news | By Correspondent June 28, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The first announcement is on behalf of the COPDA and AsoGas gas stations. All COPDA and AsoGas gas stations will close tomorrow at 4:00 PM at the latest. They hope to reopen on Thursday at noon, but that will depend on weather conditions at that time.

The second announcement is on behalf of SUVECU, the association of supermarkets. All supermarkets that are members of SUVECU will close their doors at the latest by 14:00 tomorrow. Re-opening of the supermarkets will be announced later, as this will depend on the weather forecast and how quickly the logistics of the supermarkets (shelf replenishment, warehouse, etc.) will be up and running again. That is expected to be several hours after it is safe to be on the streets after the storm.

Both organizations indicate that the announcements are safety measures and therefore no reasons for panic. After the storm, everything continues as normal.
