THE HAGUE - The standing committees for Kingdom Relations of the First and Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament will organize the Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO) on Bonaire from Monday 23 August to Wednesday 25 August 2021. The IPKO is the consultative structure of the parliaments of the countries of the Kingdom.
The IPKO is organized twice a year, in winter and in summer. The two previous times, the consultation took place digitally because of the corona pandemic. This time, the corona situation allows the parliamentarians to physically meet. Current COVID-19 regulations are respected by delegations.
Program
During the formal part of the program, the delegations will discuss, the elections held in 2021 in the Netherlands, Curaçao and Aruba and their organization. There is also talk of better and lasting relations within the Kingdom. Subjects that can be discussed are equality, communication, diversity, the Charter, human rights, the rule of law and good governance, and mutual aid and assistance.
On Wednesday morning the delegations will visit the Washington Slagbaai National Park. There they receive information about nature conservation on land and in the waters around Bonaire.
The IPKO will conclude on Wednesday afternoon with the establishment of the appointment list and a press conference.
