SCHIPHOL, WILLEMSTAD - Dirk Buitelaar succeeds Cees Ursem as KLM's regional manager for the Caribbean. Buitelaar will perform his function from Curaçao.
The new manager previously worked for KLM in Dubai as country manager for the United Arab Emirates. His predecessor Cees Ursum held various positions within KLM for 29 years. He was previously general manager of KLM in Suriname, West Africa, Eastern Europe, Iran and Egypt. Soon Ursem will retire. He has been the regional manager of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao since 2017.
On Tuesday, Buitelaar met the governor of Curaçao, Lucille George-Wout.
