WILLEMSTAD - The management of Protestant School Board (VPCO), in consultation with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (OWCS), Sithree van Heydoorn, has decided to close Marnix College Cas Cora today and tomorrow. The management hopes this will bring some tranquility back to a serious situation, which is currently being investigated.
The management has also chosen to suspend a teacher with the last name Wiels, given that this teacher was in charge of school safety and was also the closest to last Tuesday's police check. The management made this choice in order to thoroughly investigate to what extent the teacher was involved in the search where several students were ordered to take off their clothes.
According to the management, it is a serious situation: "The more is known about what happened, the more frustration this causes."
The situation of last Tuesday, which arose during the control of weapons and drugs by the police is being discussed today by the management of VPCO with, among others, the Public Prosecution Service to see what exactly needs to be done.
What is certain is that no apology of any kind can take away the pain and humiliation of the students.
