WILLEMSTAD, THE HAGUE - MFK and PNP as an upcoming coalition have been repeatedly invited to consult with the Netherlands, Aruba and Sint Maarten about the advice of the Council of State regarding the Kingdom Act on the Caribbean Body Reform and Development (COHO), but have not responded.
This is what Undersecretary Raymond Knops writes to the Second Chamber Committee for Kingdom Relations, which asked the undersecretary to respond to a letter sent by MFK and PNP to the parliaments of the four countries. “MFK and PNP have been invited several times to participate in the talks planned and now also held with Aruba and Sint Maarten, and I have offered official support. Until now, this has not been discussed.”
Knops emphasizes once again that there is "an optional offer from the Netherlands on the table" and that "it has been communicated several times that participation in the COHO Act is a condition for obtaining financial support from the Netherlands."
