WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Dorothy Pieterz-Janga has indicated that she agrees with vaccinating young people, now that scientific advice indicates that this is responsible.

The minister was again questioned in writing by Member of Parliament Steven Martina about her opinion regarding the vaccination program. Pieterz-Janga believes that she herself does not have to disclose whether she has been vaccinated or not.

In her answer, Pieterz-Janga indicates that she believes in the principle of 'lead by example', but also that everyone's free choice should be respected. This also applies to the young.

The Minister of Health emphasizes that an extra point of attention has been added to government policy. The policy was aimed at motivating people to get vaccinated, explaining that vaccination is not an obligation. She now adds a third aspect to this. “The privacy of the population must be respected in the free choice of whether or not to be vaccinated,” said the minister.
