WILLEMSTAD - Dorothy Pietersz-Janga is going to report libel and slander against Jan Huurman. In the eyes of the Minister of Health, Environment and Nature, the former Inspector General of Public Health is overstepping his boundaries as a medical professional.
According to the minister, the former inspector is damaging the image of her ministry and the inspectorate with his statements in the book he recently published and also in a press release that was submitted last week.
Huurman recently published a book about his time as an inspector and inspector-general of the Public Health Inspectorate in Curaçao.

Dr. Jan Huurman
In his book, Huurman outlines his experiences against the background of the culture of Curaçao society. Dire poverty and (corrupt) wealth. Favoritism and racism. Tensions between the original population and the Dutch ex-colonizer. Major economic problems, financially on the verge of bankruptcy.
