WILLEMSTAD - As part of the trajectory of Digitization in Education, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESKD) Mrs. Sithree van Heydoorn and the Minister of Governance, Planning, and Public Service Management (GPSP) Mr. Ornelio Martina have signed a protocol for the exchange of information. This protocol is specifically for the digitization of education. The two ministries will work together and exchange data to work more efficiently and in a modern way for monitoring and guidance in education through electronic channels.
The Ministry of ESKD has the task, according to the legal framework, of the financing regulations for education and the education law of foundation to finance and monitor education. In relation to this, the Ministry of ESKD has developed a digital application (Centraal Landelijk Onderwijs Applicatie-CLOA) to centralize all information to have data and information in a system where the Government has all authorization. For better synchronization, the Ministry of ESKD approached the Ministry of GPSP to work together and synchronize the information. This way, the Ministry of ESKD has access to personal information to guide and monitor the educational system more efficiently.
This also allows the Ministry of ESKD to work more directly with all its stakeholders when they have correct and accurate data. Of course, security, privacy, and supervision aspects were considered to safeguard the data.
Ministers Van Heydoorn and Martina indicated that this protocol is part of the digitalization process, and its goal is to improve the quality and modernize the administrative system, thus continuing to work towards the well-being of the Curaçao community and keeping up with the modern era of digitalization.
The Minister of ESKD, Sithree van Heydoorn, informs that more digitalization-related activities will be presented to the community throughout the year.
