WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Finance is going to apply a reduction on old tax bills that had to be paid in full at once. To this end, the ministry signed a directive on Tuesday.
With the plan, Minister of Finance Javier Silvania wants to eliminate tax arrears and at the same time replenish the state treasury as much as possible.
According to the plan, for tax debts up to 100 thousand guilders, a reduction of 40% is applied when paying in one go. For tax debts above 100 thousand guilders that are paid in one go, the reduction is 30%.
