WILLEMSTAD - The number of beds for patients infected with the COVID-19 virus is being expanded. Because the number of corona patients is increasing, there is a greater need for beds, according to the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).
The hospital says it has expanded the number of beds to 148. The 'recovery room', where patients normally come after an operation, is now being set up as an intensive care unit. Only Covid-19 patients will be placed here.
The CMC urgently needs more capacity as the number of corona patients on the island continues to increase.
