WILLEMSTAD - AON Holdings has been acquired by Navigator Insurance Consultants (NIC). The Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten, the Central Bank of Aruba and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets have officially approved the acquisition.
The acquisition was successfully completed on December 24. Now that the takeover is official, the two organizations will be merged under one AON roof on the Nieuwe Haven from 1 January 2022.
According to NIC, this new set-up will provide even more continuity, know-how and specialist insurance solutions and further contribute to an even better service level for the clients. "NIC is a 100% independent broker with offices in Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire and St. Maarten and after the acquisition has more than 20 professionals employed," said NIC.
The company partners with independent retail broker, Howden Specialty, headquartered in London. In addition to private customers, NIC focuses on commercial insurance for which it offers tailor-made solutions.
"After the acquisition, NIC will now also become a network partner of AON, the second largest insurance broker in the world, which means that NIC will also be able to continue to use the international insurance solutions offered by AON worldwide in addition to Howden. This greatly strengthens its position as a leading business insurance brokerage to the benefit of current and future customers of NIC and the local communities that NIC is proud to be a part of."
