No confidence gas station owners in fuel price regulator

Main news | By Correspondent May 19, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - The 22 private gas stations no longer have confidence in Bureau Telecommunications & Post (BTP). BTP is the regulator and must advise the government on fuel prices.

The interest groups Asogas, Copda and Vanddis have sent a letter to the Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje. They believe that BTP's calculation model 'does not provide the correct margin' and should be replaced.

The dealer margin of the 'model gas station' would be incorrect. This is the part of the price that the gas station operators receive to pay for their business operations. There will now be an independent audit that can adjust the margin.
